Boy is this ever going to be a process and a challenge! I was prepared for 10g total carbs to be a difficult limit, but I don’t think I was prepared for the hunger and the cravings from being off keto for a month.
The morning started off well and I had energy when I woke up and I wasn’t super hungry through my two keto coffees. I ate lunch around noon and was satisfied because I worked in an ounce of romaine lettuce with my egg salad and cheddar cheese.
After lunch, we went out to run some errands and I hit a major wall. I drank a Diet Mountain Dew but it didn’t help me. I even had a bit of gastric upset while we were in the grocery store. I felt so low that I ate 1/6 of a keto brick when we got home.
After that, I was fine all afternoon and went out with my mom and grandmother to the nail salon. Since everyone in town wanted to be pretty for New Year’s, we were there a little longer than expected.
When I got home around 7:30, I was extremely hungry again, so I gave into temptation and ate a double serving of dinner which completely obliterated my macros.
Tomorrow is a new day and I am going to try to be as strict as possible. I’m hoping when I get back to work on Wednesday and don’t have as much time to think about food (and as I start to get back on ketosis), things will start getting easier.
